For generations, people from Upminster have always supported the “local shop” “the little guy”, “the independent” There has always been a sense of duty within the community to do so.
It’s no surprise there has been successful businesses at our location for decades. From its early inception as a coal merchant’s supplying heating fuels in the local area to more recently as Martino’s barbers successfully cutting hair for over twenty years. As independent business owners, we always recognise the importance of our community and how looking after the customer is at the heart of everything we do. Supplying products or services to the neighbourhood has always taken place at this local historic site.
Having worked previously at Martinos for a number of years, understanding the when the opportunity arose for me to take over the business I jumped at the chance. I wanted to appeal to a wider audience, whilst retaining the traditions that have made the barbers a local icon. We also appeal now to a wider audience within the local area. A new set of values if you will.
